debit card is tied to your checking account — mastercard is a credit card that has limits and charges interest — all can be used with pay pal!!!

I’ve had established credit for a good number of years now, and over the years I’ve learned things I wish I had known in the beginning. To make this a question, and to be able to share it with this new younger credit generation, what are your positive credit (credit cards, savings, etc.) tips that you have found that have worked for you to keep debt down, and keep a good credit score ?? I’ll name a couple and everyone else please add on so we can help new ones to this crazy credit card game.
don’t open too many cards at once.
Watch getting those Department store credit cards, as their interest rates are generally VERY high.

I have 3 credit cards ( 2 are paid off) and I am paying on one card at this time. When I pay this card monthly, it appears that I cannot see a difference in the balance. A friend told me that if my minimum payment is $ 20.00 and I send $ 40.00 let the company know that the extra $ 20.00 goes to principal. Is it true if I pay on the principal that I will see a difference in the balance owe? Thanks.

Your friend is 100% correct….when sending extra payments for a mortgage.
I Would advise calling you creditor directly to insure the receipt and proper register of your additional payments.

We are going to sell autos on eBay motors and off our lot, auto detailing and repairs. We have been to a couple of local banks and just don’t quite seem to fit their criteria. We’ve always been self employed in some form so our tax returns are pathetic. We don’t have any money to put into the business which, well, that’s why we need financing. Am I to believe that a business can’t be started unless you have thousands of your own money to put into it? SBA apparantly requires 25% of the loan amount to be available from us as cash. If I had that money, I probably wouldn’t need much of a loan. Anyway, I’m a bit frustrated because we’re not fitting into the commercial lending ‘box’. We are talented intelligent people with excellent credit but short on cash. Any ideas?

You can try Bank of America or a local credit union. They will give you basically a credit card with a limit up to $ 100,000.

That depends on the school. To my understanding, that school is a public school, which means they are tun by the state. With the conditions of the economy, state schools do not have that much money to give their students who need it.= so don’t expect much. If it is a private school with a large endowment than you can expect a lot.

6 more years and it will be off your credit report. Unless they try to make you pay something on it. If you do make anymore payments on it, then that starts the 7 year cycle over again.

I have negative accounts on my credit report that have already been resolved. Does anyone know a “for sure” way to remove them permanently without having to wait for 7 years to go bye??

Hopefully you have a letter from the creditors showing they are resolved. If not get them. Pull all 3 credit reports, and dispute each item on all 3 reports that you say are resolved. If the bureau does not take them off fax the letters to the bureaus.

There are 3 main credit reporting agencies, Experian, Equifax, and Transunion. You are eligible for one free credit report per year or if you are denied credit for anything, you can get a free one then too.
You can do this through their websites, or give them a call and tell them you want to get your free credit report. You should not have to pay anything or input a credit card number. There are services out there that will pull your report and sell it to you if you want to pay them, but I would suggest you just get it for free and pocket the money instead.
