January 23rd, 2012

Question by : Do credit repair services work? Which is the best agency to go through?
I have paid for alllllll of my old collection accounts and I’m just waiting for them to drop off of my credit reports. I’ve been looking into credit repair service on line and wondering if they can actually help. All of the items on my reports are actually MINE and I did actually owe them, but they are all FINALLY paid off. Is there any hope to get them removed quickly?

Q&A: Can a collection agency continue to report on your credit report if the statute of limitations has expired?

November 4th, 2011

Question by niki t: Can a collection agency continue to report on your credit report if the statute of limitations has expired?
For example, in California the Statute of Limitations on collecting debt is 4 years. So after 4 years, can the collection agency continue to post negative entries in your credit report?

Answer by SPIFIMAN1
People mix this up all the time.

The time that derogatory accounts can be reported is governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act and it says 7-years from the date of first delinquency nothing resets this time line.

The statute of limitations is the legal time that creditors have to sue you and get a judgment, this time line varies by State and type of debt, this time line can be reset by making a payment and in some States even by admitting the debt is yours.

One time line has nothing to do with the other.

How does a small company report late payments to a credit reporting agency?

September 1st, 2011

Question by Tim T: How does a small company report late payments to a credit reporting agency?
A large, financially successful company is not paying its bills on time. One invoice is over 60 days old for $ 10,000, and another is over 30 days old for another $ 10,000.

The large company has been unresponsive to our requests for payment status.

How do I report them to a credit reporting agency?

Best answer:

Answer by jlf
You can’t unless you subscribe to the credit bureaus services (which is expensive). And… credit bureau reporting is for consumers (individuals), not corporations.

Can a collection agency hit your credit report before notifying you in writing?

July 4th, 2011

Question by Brad A: Can a collection agency hit your credit report before notifying you in writing?
Can a collection agency hit your credit report before notifying you in writing? This stupid collection agency negatively hit my credit report without even sending me anything! I had to call them and have THEM send the stuff out!

Is this right? How can they just hit your credit report without giving you the opportunity to dispute it?

Best answer:

Answer by stan c
When the collection agency bought your account, they also bought the papers you signed stating they will run a credit report on you.

Question by dat251flava: has anyone out there used hargrove and associates credit repair agency? does it work?
While im making offers and removing things myself i felt paying a credit repair service $ 250 wasnt bad to help me due to the fact im in school again and working two jobs i really dont have time to follow up on everything. Has anyone used this service or a similar company. Does it work? i know what they do i just want to see has it worked for anyone yet?

Best answer:

Answer by Caroline
Don’t pay someone for something that you can do yourself (unless you got money to burn.) You can contact the companies yourself and have it cleared up, set aside an hour or two over the weekend, see what it is that needs to be taken care of. if there are mistakes, get supporting info and send it to the reporting agency so they can update their records (I have done this myself once) – if you owe money to someone, arrange for payments and have them take the blemish off your records, or once you pay it off, send proof to the reporting agency and have them remove it. Good luck!

Is All houston solutions a good credit repair agency?

Question by oLd5cho0L: Is All houston solutions a good credit repair agency?
I need help with credit repair. I have tried it on my own but have not been able to do it. I have been told these guys are really good. Just wanted to know if there is anyone else who has used them. Thanks.

To the best of my knowledge, there are no GOOD credit repair agencies. They cannot do anything that you cannot do totally on your own, and you will usually pay big money to them. Read up on how to fix your ccredit, then follow through. But remember, legitimate negative items on your credit report cannot be removed by any so-called repair agency. I would suggest avoiding any – and all of them.

Jeff Clemons Takes Helm of MassMutual?s Nevada Agency

April 13th, 2011

Jeff Clemons Takes Helm of MassMutual’s Nevada Agency

Jeff Clemons

Las Vegas, NV (Vocus/PRWEB) April 11, 2011

Jeff Clemons has taken the reigns of the Nevada general agency for the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual). A financial services industry veteran who worked for Northwestern Mutual for the past two decades, Clemons moved to MassMutual to build his own agency and create a greater impact in Nevada, a state challenged by unemployment and a sputtering economy.

Among his first order of business, job creation.

Clemons and MassMutual will fill 47 financial services positions in the agency over the next three years.

“I like to build things and this is an opportunity to build something of importance for Nevada. The people of Nevada have been hit especially hard in this economic downturn. We lead the nation in many unpleasant categories. My office is going to help impact our community’s financial security by offering education to the public and career opportunities in financial services,” he said.

“Jeff brings incredible knowledge and experience to our office. He also has the passion and drive to help people in the Las Vegas area succeed as they build their financial plans,” said John Vaccaro, Senior Vice President of Sales & Distribution for MassMutual.

Mr. Clemons always had a knack for making his income grow even when he was just a boy growing up raking leaves and selling candy in Saginaw, MI.

“I was always generating revenue from as far back as I can remember,” he said.

Clemons, who grew up with modest means in the former automotive town, says his upbringing as the oldest of three with a single mom, has given him the deep insight and drive necessary to help Nevada residents turn their fiscal health around.

Clemons’ own story is a playbook in perseverance.

“My mom was determined and hardworking. She did not make a lot of money but she managed with three kids. She was frugal and she taught me how to manage resources well,” he said.

As a child, Clemons was an early leader, getting his siblings ready for breakfast and starting his mother’s car for her in the winter before she left to her job cleaning the local hospital. He dreamed of leaving Saginaw and starting out on his own. Clemons joined the U. S. Air Force at 18 and was stationed in Germany and later Las Vegas. After his service was complete, Clemons pursued his dream for a degree in managerial finance at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Clemons sees the parallels of his success with many client stories he has come across in Nevada over the years.

The one constant to prosperity is planning, he said.

“The power of planning can change the economic state of a community. You can create your own future by having a path and the discipline to stick to it,” he said. “Las Vegas will come back and we will be better having gone through this recession. MassMutual wants to be out in front helping people make smart financial decisions. We will help raise the economic well being of this community one client at a time.”

Does it make sense to pay $1200 to a credit repair agency for a credit score of 446?

April 9th, 2011

Question by s a: Does it make sense to pay 00 to a credit repair agency for a credit score of 446?
I want to buy my home but my credit score is 446 so I have been referred to a credit repair agency for help. But because I have so many outstanding debts, some very old & some new, the estimated price for their service is $ 1200. Yes, I have tried this process on my own but it takes too long, Should I just go ahead & pay for their service so I can buy my home?

Best answer:

Answer by falsi fiable
Nope.

Credit repair is a scam. You cannot remove accurate information from your credit file. You can challenge incorrect information.

Here’s what credit repair companies promise: their computers will send automated challenges for every negative item on your file and if the credit bureaus do not respond within the appropriate time frame, those negative items have to come off by law.

Here’s why it fails: the credit bureaus have even better computers to respond to trivial automated complaints.

In the end, you wind up paying hundreds of dollars and get nothing in return.

If you have inaccurate items on your credit file, you can challenge those yourself for FREE.
