Any tips on how to finance startup cost for small business with no money down but excellent credit?

January 12th, 2012

Question by jmb563: Any tips on how to finance startup cost for small business with no money down but excellent credit?
We are going to sell autos on eBay motors and off our lot, auto detailing and repairs. We have been to a couple of local banks and just don’t quite seem to fit their criteria. We’ve always been self employed in some form so our tax returns are pathetic. We don’t have any money to put into the business which, well, that’s why we need financing. Am I to believe that a business can’t be started unless you have thousands of your own money to put into it? SBA apparantly requires 25% of the loan amount to be available from us as cash. If I had that money, I probably wouldn’t need much of a loan. Anyway, I’m a bit frustrated because we’re not fitting into the commercial lending ‘box’. We are talented intelligent people with excellent credit but short on cash. Any ideas?

You can try Bank of America or a local credit union. They will give you basically a credit card with a limit up to $ 100,000.

Will financial aid award me any money even though I had a previous problem with them?

November 15th, 2011

Question by thysane: Will financial aid award me any money even though I had a previous problem with them?
In the school year of fall 2004 – spring 2005 I was awarded some money from financial aid to cover my community college expenses. Now I am going back to school and I already paid for my classes this semester. In the past I left school during the spring semester which cause me to have a debt with the school and financial aid as well. Everything is paid off now, but my question is: if I do apply for financial aid this year, will they give me any money?
It was not a student loan. It was money awarded to me that I never have to pay back. I think I said it before, I allready payed for my classes but money is tight and I am wondering if I can apply for this grant again to help me cover books and such.

What type of aid did you get because they may not be mad at you if you had deferred payments until graduation. But The Department of Ed does not hold grudges as long as they get their money back. So you should be fine.

How can I get my financial aid money to pay for my textbooks?

September 28th, 2011

Question by Rebecca Nah: How can I get my financial aid money to pay for my textbooks?
I go to the University of Illinois at Chicago and I am a freshman. I got complete coverage for my freshman year through financial aid, but how do I actually get the money?

Best answer:

Answer by Jess19
go to the admissions office of your college and ask for a book voucher. then take the voucher and a copy of your classes to your bookstore and there ya go!
they will ask you how much money you are going to need for you’re books, so i would look at the prices and get a rough estimate, because if you go over, the money left over you wont recieve to use till later. “you” wont get the money in hand, but it will be in your college account for you to use when needed.

How can I pursue action against someone who stole money from me in exchange for “credit repair”?

August 15th, 2011

Question by texastailfeathers: How can I pursue action against someone who stole money from me in exchange for “credit repair”?
Nearly a year ago I paid someone to repair my credit. She is licensed. I have a written contract. She has done nothing to help my credit and will not respond to email or telephone inquiries. How can I report her to state licensing agencies (Texas) and the credit bureaus?
This person is not a member of the Better Business Bureau. She works for a mortgage company, but does the “credit repair” independently.
By “independently”, I mean she does not represent any company. This is her “side business”.
She is not representing a COMPANY. She is not a member of BBB. She is a licensed loan officer who does credit repair INDEPENDENTLY as a SIDE BUSINESS. I do have a signed contract with a ONE YEAR GUARANTEE, signed on July 23, 2006.

Can I transfer my financial aid money to a different school?

August 10th, 2011

Question by AMANDA: Can I transfer my financial aid money to a different school?
I applied for financial aid for a school in huntington beach, ca. I recently found out I might move to North Dakota. Is there any way I can transfer the financial aid money to a community college in North Dakota?

Best answer:

Answer by Lawl C
No. You get a separate Financial Aid package from each school you apply to. What one school offers you is what you receive only if you go to their school. Just apply for financial aid at the community college if it comes down to that.
